Event Opportunities: The Kerr County Stock Show is an event where the youth of Kerr County show their livestock projects and put them up for auction. This is a great opportunity to spread the word about Texas Brigades among kids who would be very receptive to attending the camps.

2025 North East Ag Fair
Location: Madison High School AMP Complex in San Antonio, TX

Event Opportunities: The North East Agriscience Magnet Program (AMP) is home of the James Madison FFA and one of the largest and most active agriculture educational programs in Texas and the nation. The purpose of their annual Ag Fair is to engage our North East community in two days full of activities showcasing the skills of students in the AMP through events such as livestock exhibition, agricultural mechanics skill-a-thon, and creative arts competition. The Ag Fair provides an avenue for our community and local businesses to join, and encourage additional opportunities, for our students in their agricultural endeavors.

FWSSR Kids Gone Wild
Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo hosts Kids Gone Wild at the FWSSR

Event Opportunities: Kids Gone Wild! is a wildly popular event that is an all-inclusive, educational & interactive experience that teaches kids of all ages, the important connection between wildlife, land & livestock. It is a free event with grounds admission to the Fort Worth Stock Show and fun for all ages.
Texas Brigades will have a booth space set up at this event for Brigade graduates to display their posters and talk to attendees about Texas Brigades. There will also be an activity that we ask cadets to assist with (i.e. roping dummy, antler scoring).

Coordinate in a provided spreadsheet which graduates are attending during which time slots
Communicate arrival details and instructions with participants (as they become available from TB)
Communicate with TB staff the list of graduates
Be willing to be at the event at least 95% of the time to assist with time slot turnover
Coordinate booth set-up and tear-down with Texas Brigades staff

Confluence of Young Conservation Leaders (CYCL)

Texas Brigades is involved with the nationwide Confluence of Young Conservation Leaders (CYCL). Every two years, a different CYCL partner hosts the CYCL event. Texas Brigades hosted the 2019 CYCL in Austin, TX.
You are invited to apply to attend the 2024 Confluence of Young Conservation Leaders with Texas Brigades.
This event presents an opportunity to meet and network with other young leaders with a passion for the conservation of natural resources. Previous attendees have come from Texas, Missouri, Wisconsin, Florida, Oklahoma, Virginia, and South Carolina.
Texas Brigades facilitators will select up to six (6) Brigades graduates (ages 18-21) from across the state. The application deadline is September 20, 2024. Chosen candidates will be notified by September 27, 2024.

Event Opportunities: Scheduled every October the TOWA Fall Stampede is the organization’s annual informal party/event. Situated on 200 acres that abuts the Colorado River, the venue provides plenty of room for fun. Whereas the annual conference is the time for awards, scholarships, craft improvement seminars, and networking. The Stampede is also an opportunity to network but is solely designed as a place for state agencies, manufacturers, and sponsoring NGO members to showcase their efforts and wares. Texas Game Warden Experience with Texas Brigades
We are looking for 17-22 year old students (minimum completion of Junior year of high school) that have a strong interest in a conservation law enforcement career. This event is the perfect opportunity to hear and learn from Texas Game Wardens about their day-to-day lives and gain valuable, hands-on experience relating to a career as a Texas Game Warden.

Event Opportunities: Explore Bowhunting is an event hosted by Inks lake State Park to educate the community on bowhunting, cleaning/processing your game, operation game thief, getting youth involved in hunting, ethical hunting practices and more. Opportunities for cadets include manning a booth to display your poster and promoting Texas Brigades.

East Texas Conservation Expo
Location: Polk County Commerce Center and Pedigo Park; Livingston, TX
Date & Time: Saturday, September 14 — 9:00am - 6:00pm
Event Opportunities: The Piney Wood Lakes Chapter and Polk County Commerce Center are excited to introduce The East Texas Conservation Expo! This community event will feature educational programs, workshops, product displays and demonstrations by agricultural, timber, water resource and recreation producers, suppliers and agencies. This is a free event for the public and a wonderful opportunity for graduates to share their experience with local attendees!

A.4 Unmanned Poster Display — Restrictions: poster or trifold must be displayed for a minimum of three (3) consecutive days at a single location, or for the duration of an event.

Kids Fishing Derby
Location: Carl Barton JR Park; Conroe, TX
Date & Time: Saturday, September 14 — 8:00am - 12:30pm
Event Opportunities: The Kids Fishing Derby is a family event put on by the City of Conroe. Cadets will have opportunities to get unmanned poster credit, as well as help with untangling fishing lines, tying on hooks, picking up trash, and checking out poles.

South Texas Wildlife Conference
Location: Pleasanton Civic Center; Pleasanton, TX
Date & Time: Friday, September 13 — 8:00am - 4:00pm
Event Opportunities: The 13th South Texas Wildlife Conference is being hosted by Texas Wildlife Association, Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute, and Texas Parks and Wildlife. Attendees will hear from university researchers, agency personnel, land managers, and property owners on a suite of South Texas wildlife and habitat management topics.
Texas Brigades will have a booth at this event, with the opportunity for cadets to present their poster and share their experience with conservation-minded attendees. In addition to a manned poster display, there will be an opportunity for graduates to present a short 2-3 minute testimonial during the conference’s lunch break.
A.1 Single Presentation to a Captive Audience (500 points) — Restrictions: If you set up your poster or trifold while making/providing a presentation, you will NOT receive credit for a manned display, only the educational presentation.
A.3 Manned Poster Display (250 points) — Restrictions: points awarded per day, minimum of one hour.

Sam Houston CCA Banquet
Location: Walker County Fairgrounds in Huntsville, TX
Date & Time: Thursday, September 5 — 10:00 AM - 8:00 PM
10:00 AM - 1:00 PM - Set up for the banquet
5:30 PM - 8:00 PM - Banquet, cadets are welcome to stay the for the whole banquet and clean up afterwards.
Event Opportunities: The Sam Houston CCA Chapter was started to help raise awareness and funds to protect Texas costal Estuaries. They cover Walker County and the surrounding ares. This is a wonderful opportunity for graduates to share their experience with local attendees!
